But will we let him live in a life hiding his abilities? This discrimination must be stopped now. And as far as I’m concerned, our kind has been protecting the balance in this world! Chapter 2
The Pendant
(Childhood Ends)
Z is now fourteen years old.
His father totally forgot the pendant. It’s in their home but he has no idea where it is. He has been too preoccupied by his military works, he doesn’t have time to look for it. He is to fly for

Alone in his room, something strange happened! A silver pendant with a rare gemstone in the middle and mysterious patterns around the gemstone where bluish white light is shining out is floating in front of him! He reached for it and examined it. He saw that the gemstone is not attached to the string but rather, it’s floating. Yet, it doesn’t seem to be moved out of place.
He wore the pendant. Several things had entered his mind without hesitation; things unseen, things untold. He never knew them rightfully before. Yet the time has dawned upon his shoulders, and he must now face…
the undesirable consequences presented before him.
He must never make use of this knowledge for bad.
He got curious though. What is this knowledge for? It seems that it is full of concepts about magic and wizardries. He got confused. As you see, he has still not been oriented to that matter by his parents. He still doesn’t know that he is a wizard.
He point his finger to their closed light bulb and he whispered,
Light up my friend!
The light bulb opened without him touching the switch, and with light that changes color. The light changes from blue, red, yellow, orange, green, white, violet and their shades. It was one sight to see!
This is so cool! I have magic powers! I have magic powers!

Z, I have something to tell you.
Chapter 3
The Revelation
Z and his mother went down to their living room. He was shocked that there were five adults and three children, about the same age as he is.
Deary, here with us today are Professor Darryl Justin, Mr. and Mrs. Narvaez, Mr. and Mrs. Fernandez and Mr. and Mrs. Clemens. Also, here with us are Simon, Nick and Nathan. They are our friends. Together with your dad, we form the Elite Seven, the Circle of the Greatest Wizards and Witches on Earth.
Wizards? Witches?
Yes, Z. Your dad is a wizard and I am a witch. You yourself are a wizard, dear.
I’m a wizard?

Now, we are here to discuss a problem. Here on earth, only one in ten million people is a wizard or a witch. Even in our small population, quarrels cannot be avoided. Our people are fighting over who’s the best. So, the Elite Seven formed a conclusion. There will be a tournament in three months. A magic tournament! The winner will be declared as the best. And therefore, the conflict will be solved. The remaining wizards and witches also agreed.

Chapter Four
The Rise to a Champion
It has been 3 weeks now since they started training. Z has been showing effort greater than anyone has ever. Even the Master of Magic himself is impressed on Z.
He can make a fire ball twice bigger, summon creatures twice more, heal an injury twice faster, and revive the dead in a blink of an eye.

Chapter 5
The Eve of the Journey to Glory
Tomorrow is the start of the tournament. This is not an ordinary tournament where the battle is in the arena alone. You’d be fighting one when you see one. On different cities, on different states, on different countries. Well, they do know how to use teleportation but still, traveling is fun…
And risky.
Madam Garnet has prepared Z’s traveling bag.
Here are some chants scrolls, some food scrolls, scrolls of healing, scrolls of teleportation and other things that you still might need.

The Big Day
Early that morning, when Z wakes up, he saw his teammates sitting on their porch already.

The Journey Begins
The journey started peacefully.
They went into dark forests, climbed high mountains, cross rivers and all natural things that adventurers would.
But something weird has been going on lately.
Z has been seeing carnation petals everywhere.
That’s rather odd. I’ve been seeing these petals from our doorstep. I thought that that was a coincidence. But petals up to here?
Maybe we are being followed?
Ooh, that’s scary. Maybe they’re assassins.
Oh, shut-up Simone. You’re such a scaredy-cat.
As if you’re not scared, Nathan.

Shut up, guys! Can’t you see that Z’s concentrating?

Z meditated for a few minutes. After opening his eyes, he chanted,

A blue light surrounded them. The trees before them disappeared. All they can see are themselves…
and a little pink entity.

He snapped his fingers. And the blue light went gone. The tiny pink creature came before him.

Hi! The name’s Sakura. I’m a pixie.
A pixie? You mean, you’re a fairy?
Excuse me! We pixies are way more beautiful than fairies! Even if we are smaller, we can fight without silly magic wands! Oh yeah, we can also be as big as humans are.

His friends are still shocked at what they see. They are dazzled with the pixie’s beauty.

Not long after, they decided to walk some more. They walked, walked, and walked some more. They walked until they tired their feet out.
Simone, being the fattest of them said, hey! I’m hungry! Can we stop and eat something? We haven’t eaten in hours!
So, the team decided to rest and eat. They also decided to call it a day.
We’ll camp here for the meantime. We’ll take turns in guarding the perimeters. We can’t be caught by enemies helplessly. We’ll switch every two hours. Simon, you and Nathan are the first to sleep. The rest, you’d be on-guard with me.
Can we at least have a campfire?
Well, okay. Can you gather some dry wood?

After a few moments, Nick came back. He had wood…

Here’s the wood, Z. Hey Z, you didn’t tell me that there are flying snakes in here.
Upon hearing it, Z got shocked. He almost hit Sakura with the fireball in his hand that was supposed to be for lighting the wood.
Hey! I almost got hit with that! I don’t want to be a fried pixie!
Z didn’t mind Sakura. He was too busy thinking about what Nick saw.
After thinking for a long while, he came to a thought.
Flying snakes? This could just be one thing. And this isn’t anything good. Simon! Nathan! Wake up! We are off for a fight?
The two, for having just awoken, were still not on their proper mind set.
Huh? Let me at ‘em! Let me at ‘em!
SIMON!
Simon got off on himself again.
What’s happening Z?
There are Pterovipers in here!
Ptero what?
Pterovipers! Flying snakes! Venomous ones! Their bites can lead to severe weakening of your bodies and in worst cases, death!
Then we have to run!
We can’t run! Pterovipers follow scents. They’ve been here for a while now. I’m sure that our scents have been registered in their minds already. They won’t stop until they have bitten us.
So, what’s the plan?
Snakes are afraid of fire. Maybe they’ll fly off if we shoot fireballs?
That’s great, Nathan! You’re a genius!
I am?
Let’s do it! Now Nick, where’d you say you see these flying snakes?
Nick didn’t reply.
Nick? Nick!
Nick was staring at something. Nick seems shocked.
Nick, what’s happening.
T-t-t-there they are, Z! They’re flying straight to our camp!

Guys, prepare for battle!
Chapter 8
The First
The pterovipers are coming. They’re getting nearer and nearer. Now, they’re face to face with Z’s party.
Shoot fireballs at them ONLY when they get near. We don’t want to waste our energy.
We heard you Z.
There were too many pterovipers. They were outnumbered 10 to 1.
Z, there are too many of them. Can’t you do something to make all of them go away?
Just then, Z remembered how big Sakura’s fireball was.
Sakura, can you make fireballs as you did while we were still in the forest?
Why?
They’re perfect for my plan.
Nick, get me those wood that I made you get for campfire.
Yes, captain.
Z, what now?
Z, here’s the wood.
Great!
Nick, back me up.
Z closed his eyes. He concentrated. The wood that Nick got was now floating.
What are you trying to do Z?
Just watch and see for yourself. Now, Sakura, shoot your fireballs at these blocks of wood.
I don’t know what you’re up to. But okay, I’ll do it.
Sakura shoots fireballs twice as big as she is on the floating piles of wood.
After a few minutes, the sky was filled with burning wood.
Then, Z made those piles of wood fly towards the pterovipers. A lot of them died. All but one of the survivors flew away. This remaining beast was different. It has blue eyes and silky emerald skin, unlike the others that had yellow eyes and dark green skin. Also, it has a wider wing.
Maybe this is their queen.
Then let’s kill it then!
Stop Nathan!
Huh? Why, Z?
The beast was flying towards them. But the way it flew was not fine. It was flying weakly.
It’s hurt. I don’t want to kill such a helpless creature.
But Z, a while ago, its kind was about to make a feast on us!
The pteroviper fell right in front of them. They saw the burn on its wing.
See what I mean? It’s helpless. Sakura, can you heal it?
I can. But why are you doing this? It’s our enemy. Why do you want it to be healed?
Because, I was thinking about something. You do realize that it is just a creature right? It’s just its instinct to attack us. Maybe we are in their territory. And see how big this burn in its wing is? Maybe it sacrificed itself to save the other pterovipers on its back. It may have tried to make a bite out of us. But it can’t do anything else, it’s just the way how it lives. Do you get my point? If you do, please heal it and let it go.

A calming bluish to lavender-colored light glowed out of Sakura’s hand. It was healing the pteroviper. After being healed, the poor creature flew above them and came near Z. It looked at Z straight to the eye, as if it was saying its thanks. After a short while, it flew away.
I’m glad that’s over. Can we sleep now?
But when they saw the camp, it was a big mess, So they had to walk again. Walk, walk and walk some more. They walked until they saw a weird big blue house. They knocked on it and there was a big blue creature inside.
Chapter 9
The Big Blue Creature and Its Big Blue House
The big blue creature was scary. It has a weird star mark near its right eye. But they need a place to rest on. They had no choice but to ask the creature for help.
Kind sir, can we stay for here for the mean time? We just need a place to have our rest. We’d be gone at dawn.
My pleasure human, my pleasure.
Thank you, sir.
Don’t thank me, thank yourselves.
Huh?
What I mean is that I have no one with and I like the company that you’ll give me. Stay here for as long as you like.

When everyone’s asleep, the big blue creature changed its form. He turned into a big blue panther. He sneaked into the guess room. And found that everyone’s asleep. Beside Z, he saw the sleeping pixie, grabbed it and dragged it up to his room.

The young boys shifted into their assigned creature. Simon turned into a barn owl, Nathan and Nick into barn eagles and Z into a golden eagle.

The three of them got outside the big blue house. They saw an open window on the top room. They went in.
*Hey guys, let’s go. Keep your guard up.*
*Hey Z, don’t you think that he’ll notice that we are different birds? Won’t he think that it’s weird?*

*Hey Z, I got this scroll of teleportation in my bag. After getting Sakura, can we just teleport our way to the Arena?*

*And look! There’s Sakura! Inside that glass jar!*

Z was too late. Nathan already glided to make a grip on the glass jar. He did make it to the jar. But the Nathan can’t hold to it right! It was slipping off!
The glass jar slipped off Nathan’s talons. And the fall broke the glass. It shattered into pieces. Sakura was freed. But the crash woke the Panther up.
GWAAAAAAAAAAOOOR!
*Run!*
*I’ll just go get Simon!*
*Z!*
Simon was still on his post. He had slept for standing guard over Sakura and the “creature”.
*There he is!*
So Z decided to go near Simon and just drag him out of the room rather than waking him up.
*Simon is a real sound sleeper! He hasn’t been awoken by the panther’s loud roar.*
So Z grabbed Simon’s wings with his sharp talons. He flew swift yet careful so his talons won’t dig themselves into Simon’s soft body.
Simon woke up. He was shocked that he was being lifted by a large eagle. He tried to squirm out of the eagle’s grip.
*Let me go!*
*Simon! Simon! Stop it! I’m trying to save you!*
*Save me?*
*Who are you?*
*It’s me silly! It’s Z!*
*Oops. Sorry* Can I ask a favor though?*

*Can you let me fly on my own now?*

*So, what’s happening?*
*We accidentally woke the panther up. But we did manage to free Sakura. It turns out that the Panther and the Big Blue Creature that we were talking to yesterday are the same. Meaning, he can shape-shift. Meaning, he is also a wizard. Or a witch.*
*Cool. So we have a rival, huh?*
*Uhm, technically, we have lots of rivals Simon.*
*oh yeah. So, where are they?*
*They are outside I guess.*
*Something’s bothering me though. Why are we escaping rather than fighting it?*
*Judging how big his morphs are, I can say that he is an expert. We can’t beat him just yet.*

After flying for several minutes, they rested on a huge rock.
*We can shift back to ourselves now.*
And so they did.
Chapter 10
The Arena Inn
Upon shifting back to their selves, they prepared for the teleportation.
Teleportation needs accuracy. So they needed to concentrate over the scroll of teleportation. They closed their eyes and held hands. Sakura hovered above them, showering everyone with carnation petals. White light surrounded them. Everything except them turned white. When they opened their eyes they’re in a room.

The team went out the inn and went to the Arena to have an on-stage practice. There, they saw, other teams. Some are big. Some are small. All of them are adults. The Last
Z got even more powerful. He can now make fireballs ten times bigger. Summon creatures ten times more. Heal an injury 10 times faster and move the Earth itself in the blink of an eye.

The battle began.

Just then, right before everyone’s eyes, the pteroviper transformed into a green dragon!
The dragon spoke and said, “Come ride me Z. I owe you my life. I’ll make you win this tournament. You deserve to be the Lord of Wizardry.”
The dragon shot fire on William. He countered it. But right after it, there was a another wave of fire, this time, it was from Z.
William got hit, badly.
William was about to attack and he said…
I won’t lose to a child.
But after saying that, he collapsed. Z won the tournament.
Z is now the Lord of Wizardry. The best among wizards.
Also, he is the Lord of Sakura’s heart.

You did it Z. I knew you can do it. I always knew that you are the best wizard.

After that, Z has been awarded by the Master of Magic himself.
For having won this Tournament of Magic, I declare Leone Zidane as the Lord of Wizardry. And his team, along with the old members of the Elite Seven, will form another circle of great wizards and it will be called “The Ultimate
